On January 30, 2026, Elsevier officially released the 2025 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list.
The list is based on Scopus, the globally authoritative citation and indexing database, which serves as the primary data source for evaluating the research outputs of Chinese scholars, and adopts the methodology developed by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. As of 2026, the list has been released for the 12th time and has attracted widespread attention from media outlets and scholars both in China and abroad.
In this year's list, a total of 92 scholars from Southeast University were selected (ranking 11th among universities nationwide), including 2 faculty members from our School.
Elsevier's "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list is based on scholars’ Scopus academic profiles, systematically presenting the impact of their research outputs within academia through multiple evaluation indicators. The list not only reflects the scholars’ long-term and solid academic accumulation but also highlights their ability to identify high-impact research topics and their academic outputs through visualized citation and mention metrics. These achievements have garnered high recognition from peers in their respective fields, the broader academia, and relevant industries, helping scholars build distinctive academic reputations and personal brands, thereby laying a solid foundation for enhancing their academic influence and visibility.
