A paper by Chen Zhou, the associate researcher from the Department of Management Science and Engineering, the School of Economics and Management at Southeast University, together with his collaborators, titled “Robust Monopoly Pricing with Asymmetric Information”, has been published in the UTD24-listed journal Production and Operations Management (POMS), a premier international journal in management science (and a UTD24 journal).
This research addresses the classic monopoly pricing problem under asymmetric information and proposes a novel robust pricing framework that incorporates semivariance-based information. The study offers significant theoretical insights and practical guidance for firms seeking to design robust and efficient pricing strategies under limited or imperfect information environments.
This research not only advances the theoretical understanding of pricing mechanisms under asymmetric information but also provides a scientifically grounded decision-making toolkit for dynamic pricing, revenue management, and risk control in sectors such as e-commerce platforms, digital content, and innovative products-thereby empowering firms to enhance their competitiveness in complex market environments.
